So I'm back! I saw soooo many beautiful sculptures, buildings, and many super cool ruins!!! I really love ruins, it was so much fun to wander around and stumble upon ruins everywhere!! I got to eat this amazing mozzarella, and pasta! It was such a blast, although my feet were so sore, and I think i need a big break from pizza XD(I ate it nearly every day). I miss our nightly stroll to the pantheon, sitting by the fountain eating gelato... if you love history and art, you should really try to go out to rome. It is truly an impressive city with so many avenues to explore and museums to see. My fav museum was by far the Borghese gallery, followed by the Vatican museum. And my fav building was the Pantheon.
I still remember our first night there. We had been flying for 2 days, and finally got to our hotel at like 10pm. I really wanted to walk around before we went to bed, because I was just too excited to sleep. The Trevi fountain was also pretty much just outside our hotel, so we wandered out and saw that. BTW that fountain never simmers down, it's always got about 50+ people photographing it! Then we just decided to walk aimlessly down a street. And in like 5 min suddenly there it was, the Pantheon. We had looked at maps earlier and never thought it was so close to our hotel, and to just stumble upon it, super tired, jetlagged, and not knowing what we were doing, it was just this magical moment. Everyone was sitting by the fountain across from it eating gelato or listening to the musicians, but I got all excited and turned to my husband and asked if I could touch it. He looked at me with the "I dunno" face. So I just scamper off and hesitantly touched one of the pillars. No one reacted, and I looked at my husband and said "honey, i just touched the pantheon!!!!", he smiled at me like I was a silly little child XD, we then walked around the front with all the pillars. It was really something to finally see and feel this building and it's presence. And the inside was just as cool as the outside ^_^.
So photos.... I'm a pretty amateur photographer... but I was wondering if anyone is interested in me sharing some photos on deviant art? If so I'll sort through my like 1000 photos and find the best ones and post them! Unfortunately I could not photograph everything(like my fav sculpture of apollo and daphne, or the sistine chapel), but I could share some good shots of the major sites. let me know
